Thanksgiving

T H A N K S G I V I N G  2 0 1 3

This year Turkey day was to be spent in Idaho Falls. Jack was planning to take out his endowments during the break and we weren't going to be able to make it. Eric came home from work and said we should just leave after work Tuesday, drive through the night to Utah and surprise the family... a genius idea! So we packed up, Eric picked me up from work and we had zero traffic, a miracle here in Denver! We got in so late we didn't want to wake everyone up so Jake left a door unlocked for us and had a bedroom ready for us. The next morning we were able to wake up everyone and surprise them! It was so great being there as Jack went through the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. He kept looking at us and smiling the whole time, it was so fun being there with them. I am so excited for Jack Attack to go to Bolivia, he is going to be such an amazing missionary! He is the friendliest, happiest guy. He is going to be such a great example, friend, and angel to the people of Santa Cruz. Afterwords, we attempted to take a family pictures for a christmas card... attempt being the key word. Then we all went out to Molly's for lunch, amazing.

After we said our goodbyes, we left to go pick up Leslie from the airport and head up to Idaho to see the folks. The next day was Thanksgiving,  Leslie and John are seriously dangerous in the kitchen! I can't even describe how good it was, I won't even torture you with pictures, mainly because I didn't take any due to my mouth watering or that I was napping :) While the turkey was cooking we went and saw Catching Fire, awesome movie! I love our Thanksgiving day movie tradition.

It's always so fun to come back and see great friends and family. We played games at the Hen house and Johnson's, played ping pong and ate pie with the cousins, boys shot guns, we ate more good food, Aunt Joan made Eric his favorite D
ivinity, we watches movies, and spent some quality time together. This trip even sparked an interest in Family history. We'll have to see where this new interest takes us. But it was fun searching on the LDS website familysearch.org at the Peterson genealogy and pictures. I love this time of year and am so grateful we get to be able to spend it surrounded by loved ones. That's what's most important, and we are truly so blessed with the best family and friends!

Eric played in our ward turkey bowl before we left, High Priests vs Elders. Apparently the High priests take it every year but the Elders pulled it off with a Win this year! It was absolutely freezing but these guys still played a good game. Eric had some nice moves in the game.

XOXO,
The Peterson's
