Thanksgiving

T H A N K S G I V I N G  2 0 1 3

This year Turkey day was to be spent in Idaho Falls. Jack was planning to take out his endowments during the break and we weren't going to be able to make it. Eric came home from work and said we should just leave after work Tuesday, drive through the night to Utah and surprise the family... a genius idea! So we packed up, Eric picked me up from work and we had zero traffic, a miracle here in Denver! We got in so late we didn't want to wake everyone up so Jake left a door unlocked for us and had a bedroom ready for us. The next morning we were able to wake up everyone and surprise them! It was so great being there as Jack went through the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. He kept looking at us and smiling the whole time, it was so fun being there with them. I am so excited for Jack Attack to go to Bolivia, he is going to be such an amazing missionary! He is the friendliest, happiest guy. He is going to be such a great example, friend, and angel to the people of Santa Cruz. Afterwords, we attempted to take a family pictures for a christmas card... attempt being the key word. Then we all went out to Molly's for lunch, amazing.

After we said our goodbyes, we left to go pick up Leslie from the airport and head up to Idaho to see the folks. The next day was Thanksgiving,  Leslie and John are seriously dangerous in the kitchen! I can't even describe how good it was, I won't even torture you with pictures, mainly because I didn't take any due to my mouth watering or that I was napping :) While the turkey was cooking we went and saw Catching Fire, awesome movie! I love our Thanksgiving day movie tradition.

It's always so fun to come back and see great friends and family. We played games at the Hen house and Johnson's, played ping pong and ate pie with the cousins, boys shot guns, we ate more good food, Aunt Joan made Eric his favorite D
ivinity, we watches movies, and spent some quality time together. This trip even sparked an interest in Family history. We'll have to see where this new interest takes us. But it was fun searching on the LDS website familysearch.org at the Peterson genealogy and pictures. I love this time of year and am so grateful we get to be able to spend it surrounded by loved ones. That's what's most important, and we are truly so blessed with the best family and friends!

Eric played in our ward turkey bowl before we left, High Priests vs Elders. Apparently the High priests take it every year but the Elders pulled it off with a Win this year! It was absolutely freezing but these guys still played a good game. Eric had some nice moves in the game.

Halloween 2013

H A L L O W E E N

What's fall without pumpkin carving, sugar, and friends? We found a hidden talent of Eric’s; he’s quite the Caramel apple maker. We had a fun night carving pumpkins, making and eating caramel apples at our friends Megan and Trevor’s house and enjoying good company. Since Eric has become quite the fisherman, I decided that should be his costume and I would be his fish!  Plus I needed something warm cause it's freezing here and something I could wear to work :) I stole this from a kids costume I saw online and made it in my size cause I thought it was so funny
Eric's apple looks professional (right) mine does not (left) nonetheless it tasted delicious
Our spooky cupcakes we made
I told Eric this is the best catch he'll ever get :)

Summer 2013

S U M M E R  &  L O T O J A

I hate not being by my family but love the time I get to spend with them! Dad took me out on a Spyder ride to go visit grandpa. Addi came and had a sleep over with me, sleeping with her and max in a full bed was not very enjoyable, they took up the whole thing! Jack went running with me and tried to kill me. We had a fire in the back yard and s’more for days. It’s these times that are the best.

Addi loves Auntie Jan

Trying to get a family picture
This is a normal picture for jack

Addi is great at making cakes :)

The reason for this fun trip to Utah was for Trevor's wedding! Congrats to him and Katie! It was so fun having the friends all in town for Trevor’s wedding. Love these guys so much!

Most of the gang

My mom and Hannah flew back with me to Denver to help us move into our new apartment. It was so nice of them and we had a good time with them in town. We went to Wash Park and listened to the Sunday evening concerts. Ate some delicious food, got pedicures, and of course had Bonnie Brae ice cream.

Leslie came to visit us in Denver and there was a professional bike race in town. It was so fun to watch and see these guys. Especially since LOTOJA was right around the corner for Eric. We also went and explored Boulder a bit. We love hanging out with Leslie we tried to get her to move here when she was visiting but no luck yet :)

When we went back to Utah for LOTOJA. This was the first time I have seen Eric race LOTOJA and it was a great time.

While we were in Utah Jack got his mission call to Santa Cruz, Bolivia! He leaves straight to the Peru MTC January 1st. It was so fun watching him open his call and have his friends and cousins there. This little man is going to make an amazing missionary and I am so excited for him!

The best part about moving to Denver and summer time is the hiking. We were so excited to be back in the mountains and get to hike again! For our Anniversary we stayed in Vail for the weekend, can you believe it’s been 2 years? Feels like two months, time goes way to fast. Vail is so pretty and Eric found an amazing hike for us! We packed some lunch and ate at the most picturesque lake.

Being in Colorado we are Rockies fan I suppose. No we will never be Nuggets fans Eric says but we can be Rockies fans since Utah doesn’t have a professional baseball team, sound logic right? But we went to a couple games before the season ended. They were so fun! Next summer we'll be going to lots more I'm sure

Eric turned 28 this year! Happy Birthday to my favorite man in the whole world! So glad I get to have you for eternity! We celebrated with his favorite dessert, cheesecake.

We went down for a quick weekend trip to Austin. We even got to go to Austin City Limits. It was so hot, we forgot how hot Austin is, poor eric was dying and needed a little nap in the shade. But the music was good, people watching was great, and seeing friends made the trip fantastic!

This was a random and long post to try to catch up our life! As always life is a party!
